Hill City Community Easter Egg Hunt

Bring your Easter basket and hop on over to the Visitor Information Center for Hill City's Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 24th, 2018.  Pre-hunt line-up starts at 9:45; Easter Egg Hunt begins at 10am sharp!  Prizes given in three age groups:  0-3; 4-7; 8-11.  The Easter Bunny, along with his helpers, will be on hand for photos and high-fives.  This Easter Egg Hunt is held thanks to the generosity of the VIC and Chamber staff who volunteer their time, to the children and youth of the Hill City Boys & Girls Club of the Black Hills who stuff the eggs and our Chamber members who donate treats and prizes for the eggs and Easter baskets.  If you wish, after the hunt, participants can empty their plastic eggs and place them in special tubs for staff to recycle.  See you on the 24th!

2018 Run for the Rangers 3-Mile Run/Walk!

Run for the Rangers 2018 is already on the calendar for spring! See below for details, and stay tuned to see when registration for our 2018 race opens up! Registration includes a race t-shirt, a chance to win over $10,000 in door prizes from our fantastic race sponsors, and a post-race meal! 

  • Race day is Sunday, March 25th, 2018

  • 3-Mile Run or Walk!

  • Registration: 11:45am-12:45pm at Granite Sports

  • Race starts at 1:00pm

  • Pre-registration: $25 if received at Granite Sports by Feb. 24th, 2018. After Feb. 24th - Race Day Registration: $30

  • All proceeds go to fund Hill City High School Scholarships!!

Black Hills Film Festival

Black Hills Film Festival

The 9th Annual Black Hill Film Festival, April 25 through April 29, 2018 features more than 20 films including narrative and documentary films from South Dakota and around the world. Many filmmakers will be on hand after their film’s debut to answer audience questions while movie industry professionals conduct sessions on movie making and acting. Korczak Day, Crazy Horse Memorial

Korczak Ziolkowski was a true visionary without his strength and conviction Crazy Horse Memorial would not be what it is today. Join us in celebration of the anniversary of sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski moving to the Black Hills in 1947 to accept the invitation from Lakota leaders to carve Crazy Horse Memorial.

Anne Ziolkowski Christensen, a great caretaker of the Native American artifacts housed at the INDIAN MUSEUM OF NORTH AMERICA®. Anne was the curator of the museum for many years, her efforts started traditions such as night blasts, art shows, summer rodeo, American Indian dancers, arts and crafts vendors and the summer lecture series. Honor Anne’s contributions to Crazy Horse Memorial on the anniversary of her passing. “Anne Z.” (1955-2011)
