Native Americans’ Day

The Native Americans’ Day celebration at Crazy Horse each year includes naming the Crazy Horse Memorial Educator of the Year, honoring an individual who has made significant contributions to Native American education. The award includes a $1,000 grant to the recipient’s school library or to programs of his or her choice that help students. The holiday’s program also includes a free public program featuring Native American singers and dancers. Programs and displays featuring artists, storytellers and hands-on activities for children are offered in the visitor complex. A free buffalo stew lunch is available for all visitors.

Korczak Remembrance Day, Crazy Horse Memorial

Korczak Remembrance Day allows visitors to walk to the tomb of sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski (1908-1982) to pay their respects to him, his wife Ruth Ziolkowski, daughter Anne & son-in-law James Howe, laid to rest in the family cemetery. This is the one time of the year that visitors are permitted to this area of the property and is a time for reflection as we move forward with Korczak & Ruth’s vision

Hill City's 6th Annual Girlfriends' Weekend is just around the corner. Starting when the stores open on Nov. 9-10, nearly every store in town will cater to the ladies and help you REJUVENATE! Come on up...rejuvenate your mind, your body, your spirit!
The Fashion Show will be Friday night (11/9) at 7 pm at Slate Creek Grille. Fashion from Doc & Alice, Warrior's Work & Ben West Gallery, Granite Sports, Jewel of the West, & more!

Olde Tyme Christmas
Thanksgiving weekend

A family-friendly event that welcomes Christmas with a parade, Christmas tree lighting, roasted chestnuts, hot cider and cookies, and special guests and events throughout the town’s shops, attractions and train museum.  An old-fashioned small-town lighted parade kicks off at 6p sharp.  Santa visits with children and hands out apples at the SD State Railroad Museum following the parade.  A wonderful tradition to enjoy with your family!
