Run For The Rangers

2018 Run for the Rangers 3-Mile Run/Walk!

Run for the Rangers 2018 is already on the calendar for spring! See below for details, and stay tuned to see when registration for our 2018 race opens up! Registration includes a race t-shirt, a chance to win over $10,000 in door prizes from our fantastic race sponsors, and a post-race meal! 

  • Race day is Sunday, March 25th, 2018

  • 3-Mile Run or Walk!

  • Registration: 11:45am-12:45pm at Granite Sports

  • Race starts at 1:00pm

  • Pre-registration: $25 if received at Granite Sports by Feb. 24th, 2018. After Feb. 24th - Race Day Registration: $30

  • All proceeds go to fund Hill City High School Scholarships!!

Grab your favorite running shoes and friends and head out to support the Hill City Rangers!

Come and celebrate Springtime, friends and flowers on this great day!  Specials all throughout town at main street merchants and area businesses.  Bring a friend and celebrate Spring!

For extra fun--bring your children to the Community Easter Egg Hunt at the Visitor Information Center (23935 Hwy. 385).  Hunt starts promptly at 10am sharp!  3 Top Prizes: Age 0-3; Age 4-7; Age 8-11.

Have a hearty breakfast in Hill City either before or after the Easter Egg Hunt and then stroll the shops to enjoy the day!

Black Hills Film Festival

The 9th Annual Black Hill Film Festival, April 25 through April 29, 2018 features more than 20 films including narrative and documentary films from South Dakota and around the world. Many filmmakers will be on hand after their film’s debut to answer audience questions while movie industry professionals conduct sessions on movie making and acting. Truly western; The Mount Rushmore Rodeo at Palmer Gulch. Cowboys and Cowgirls will compete in BULL Riding, Bronc Riding, Team Roping and Barrel Racing. The Clowns and "Mutton Bustin" are sure to please the crowd. Cowboys and Cowgirls will sign autographs followed by a Cowboy dance with Live Music. See ya at the Rodeo!!

Father’s Day Special

Sculpture in the Hills

Near two of the world’s largest sculptures--Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse--the Hill City Arts Council hosts the region’s only annual sculpture show and sale with more than 20 artists who share their process and fine art objects with almost 3000 attendees.  Always free, always the last weekend in June.  (www.hillcityarts.org)
