The Beef Jerky Outlet story is really pretty simple. Take the highest quality USDA approved jerky you can find and build a store around it. Make it in small batches so it will always be fresh. Fill the store with so many varieties and flavors of “made in the good old USA” jerky that folks will be amazed. Oh yeah, make the experience fun too. Give out lots of free samples so guests will not HOPE they like their choice . . . they will KNOW they LOVE it!

Fill in any extra space with some of the best popcorns, cheeses, peanut butters (the list goes on and on) and even throw in some bug suckers . . . just for fun. The simple idea is – every day and in all ways create an atmosphere that jerky lovers and their families can come into and relax. If you see some of our guest’s kind of dancing around the store while sampling some truly great jerky, you’ll get what we mean.

Jarrett and Jordan Dahl are award-winning, internationally recognized chainsaw artists who use the backdrop of the beautiful Black Hills to create their chainsaw carvings. These original pieces of chainsaw art are completed from Black Hills (ponderosa) pine and other local woods, which adds to their uniqueness. No piece of art is identical to the other and each brother has their own style.

Subjects can vary from Bigfoot to the famous Freedom Eagles, custom pieces, and even a 36,000-pound archway. The Dahl brothers have come to be known as the Carvers of the Hills, and you can check out the gallery of the art pieces here. If you’re interested in custom or on-site chainsaw carvings, feel free to contact either Jarrett or Jordan and they’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Things That Rock is one of the Black Hills best retail shops for a wide selection of local polished rocks and gemstones.  Pan for gold or garnets or have your picture taken in a real ore car.  Shop a unique line of fossils, minerals, fountains, rock lamps, bookends, candle holders, carvings, wind chimes, sun catchers and rough rock. 

Things That Rock also has gemstone beads, seed beads, beading supplies, leather hip purses, gold pans, rock picks, books and crystals.  If you can't find something in the Classy Casual line of jewelry, we offer custom jewelry design.  Stop in for directions to rock hunting and gold panning locations.

We offer a wide range of quilting classes & workshops from afternoon classes, one day classes to weekend retreats.  They are suitable for everyone from novice to the more experienced quilter. Our class size is limited so you get more one on one instruction.  Most classes are designed to have a completed (or nearly completed) project by the end of the class!  Beginners are welcome!  Other services that are provided, longarm quilting, custom quilts made, and hand made gift items.

I like to bring in guest instructors from time to time to teach all of us something new.Many of my students have won awards and ribbons at quilt shows and fairs. I am always open to suggestion if there is a class you would like to see on our class list just let me know.

My class size is small we fill up fast and sometimes the scheduled dates don’t work for you so if there is a class you can’t get to for whatever reason – let me know.I may have others that were in the same situation and we will schedule another class.
