Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park.  Ride on the Mickelson trail or kick back at Sheridan lake 2 miles away.  Rise in the morning with a "Get-you-started" breakfast, tour the area, then spend your cool mountain night on our covered deck, cookout on gas grills, take a dip in our pool, snuggle by a campfire, and enjoy scent of pine.   All rooms have microwave and fridge; we offer family suites, and units for groups up to 6.  Our cabins have full size kitchens and kitchenettes, with views of the pines.  Locally, family owned, we strive to provide clean, comfortable, budget friendly lodging.

We offer six intimate real log cabins and two historic ranch houses for nightly or weekly rental year-round. Our log cabins circle a picturesque meadow and are placed well back from the road.  Newton Fork Ranch will become your “home away from home;” your peaceful oasis from a world filled with time constraints and non-stop activity. Our fully furnished and well-equipped log cabins, only a half mile from Main Street, will afford you a welcome respite from a hectic life. An afternoon sitting on the deck watching wildlife or an evening spent by a warm fire will transport you to a far simpler and more tranquil time.

Each log cabin features a full kitchen with range, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, cookware, dinnerware and utensils. Each also has a gas fireplace, gas barbeque, an old-fashioned clawfoot bathtub or rock-surround showers, towels, bedding, and a porch with breathtaking views.  Five have lofts and comfortably sleep up to four people. Our sixth, which has a view of Black Elk Peak (formerly Harney Peak), is a two-bedroom and can sleep up to eight.

Our historic two-bedroom Grandma's Ranch House has a wood-burning fireplace, was built in 1914, and sleeps up to six. The famed Original Badger Clark cabin is "off-the-grid," sleeps two, is heated by a pot-bellied stove, and is for adventurous guests interested in South Dakota's first Poet Laureate and in turning back the clock to a by-gone era.  All of our cabins are placed a short distance apart to afford peace and tranquility.

We have a private access gate that opens directly onto the Mickelson trail.

PETS: Newton Fork Ranch welcomes guests traveling with their well-behaved pets. GUESTS TRAVELING WITH HORSES: we have two heavy-duty 12' x 12' paneled corrals available for a small rental fee. Located in a lovely aspen grove, there is also room for guests to erect their own electric fencing if preferred.  Call for details.

The Rafter J Bar Ranch comprises five camping areas separated by Alpine meadows and shaded by large ponderosa pines. Choose a remote site, or camp close to the resort's activity center. We offer electric, water and sewer sites along with many tent sites. Some sites have satellite TV hookups. Enjoy a crackling fire and quiet hours that begin at 10:00 P.M. There's also full-time camp security. Enjoy our swimming complex which features the addition of a hot tub. We are located adjacent to the George Mickelson Hiking & Biking Trail. This lovely all stone exterior vacation home is fully furnished and well supplied with all the things needed for a great stay.  It is tastefully decorated with several stone and nature features inside which will appeal to both make and female in the group.  It has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.  With a total of 6 beds it can accommodate 10-12 people with plenty of room for all.  This home has 2 bedrooms, bath, kitchen, dining area, living room and laundry room on each of the 2 floors.

There is a patio and 2 decks with picnic tables, chairs and gas grill for outdoor cooking or just to enjoy a rest after a full day of site seeing.  The back of the house has a low to the ground deck to the main floor for anyone who has a problem with climbing stairs.  

The central location is great for visiting all the main attractions of the Black Hills area.  There is close access to ATV trails and the Mickelson Trail for hiking and biking from the house.

This home is operated and managed by the owner so we are available to accommodate you in any way we can.

Spring Creek Inn is ideal for hunting, family reunions or just a peaceful getaway!  We are located on 3-1/2 acres surrounded by the beautiful black hills just 1 mile from Hill City, South Dakota. There is a large back yard with basketball, volleyball, playground equipment and a beautiful stream. There is also a picnic shelter with gas grills and an outdoor fireplace.
