The Hill City Area Chamber of Commerce would like to present the new 2011 - 2012 Board of Directors. Thank you to all of the volunteer Board of Directors for giving their time to help the Chamber to continue it's journey forward.
Brenda Nolting - President of the Chamber stated at the annual meeting "we are planning to work closely with Hill City's Economic Development Corporation (EDC) to try to get on track for a positive year. We would like to get flags for Main Street and work on parking and signage in Hill City. We also want to get back in touch with membership and grow our membership. We want to find ways to market Hill City as a whole."

If you draw a 15-mile circle around Hill City, you'd see that this picturesque town nestled among the pines truly is the Heart of the Hills. Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Crazy Horse Memorial, Harney Peak and Custer State Park are all less than 15 minutes away.
But you don't even have to travel that far. Hill City is a great destination in its own right. The 1880 Train, a historic steam-powered passenger train, departs daily from downtown Hill City. And the Mickelson Trail, a 109-mile recreation path, snakes right through town. You can rent bikes or avail yourself of a shuttle service to pick you up or drop you along the trail.

From the moment you arrive in Hill City, you'll feel right at home. The crisp mountain air and the sweet smell of pine draw you in. The friendly hospitality, the vibrant arts scent and the unique Main Street atmosphere will make you want to stay.
Hill City, with a population of just over 900, has one of the liveliest downtown districts in the Black Hills. Hill City is home to several well known artists, many of whom have established permanent galleries on Main Street. Nationally recognized watercolor artist Jon Crane opened his gallery in Hill City in 1995. Crane, along with the nearby Warrior's Work & Ben West Gallery, helped spark a renewed emphasis on fine art in Hill City.
